Prices of 19-kg Commercial Cylinders Slashed by Rs. 69.50

Check New Rates in Major Cities Across India?

Oil marketing companies have reduced the price of commercial LPG gas cylinders by Rs. 69.50, effective June 1.

As a result, the retail price of a 19kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi is now Rs. 1676. Similar price cuts have been implemented in other metro cities across India, according to news agency ANI.

In Mumbai, the price of a 19kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced by Rs. 69.50, bringing the new price to Rs. 1,629. In Chennai, the price is now Rs. 1,841.50, while in Kolkata, it stands at Rs. 1,789.50 after the reduction.

This price change follows an earlier announcement on March 1 by oil marketing companies, where the rate for 19kg commercial LPG cylinders was lowered by Rs.19. The consecutive price cuts signal a positive trend for businesses facing high operating costs amid economic challenges.

In April, the prices of 19kg commercial cylinders and 5kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders were reduced by Rs. 30.50 and Rs. 7.50, respectively.

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) revise cooking gas prices on the 1st of every month.

While the precise reasons behind the price decrease remain undisclosed, it is likely influenced by various factors such as changes in international oil prices, shifts in taxation policies, and supply-demand dynamics.

The government is running various schemes to promote the use of LPG cylinders for cooking in homes, such as the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, which provides subsidies to eligible families.

However, the Opposition has often criticized the BJP-led central government for failing to control fuel prices, which has had a ripple effect on the prices of essential food items and other commodities.
